About the Artist

I am a wildlife artist, native of the state of Connecticut. I began my art career in the 1970’s, focusing mainly on pet portraiture. By 1980 I was also painting wildlife, in particular the wolves that I had come to know in my association with a wolf ambassador program here in Connecticut. I have continued through the years to enjoy the challenge of the depiction of animals, both wild and domestic, in my artwork.

My work has been exhibited in the last 25 years in art shows throughout the New England and Pennsylvania and is in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. Most recently I have shown in juried art shows in Massachusetts at The Fine Art Friends Art Exhibit in Chicopee, in Connecticut at the CT Pastel Society 23rd Annual Members Show, the Glastonbury Audubon Center, Sharon Audubon Center, Piedmont Art Show in Somers, the TVAA Art Show at the King Museum in Suffield and in Vermont at the Oktoberfest Arts and Crafts Fair at Mount Snow. I am a member of the Canine Art Guild, the Connecticut Pastel Society, the Vermont Pastel Society and the Tobacco Valley Artists Association. Awards include 2nd place for pastel at the Fine Art Friends Art Exhibit in Chicopee for my painting of "Autumn". Commissions have included the illustration of the Wolf Pack Tarot Card Deck for Robert Petro as well as the cover illustration for his book 'Windspirit' and I am presently working on the completion of five 8' x 8' murals depicting the town of Stafford Springs, CT in the early 19th century.  I also enjoy doing demonstrations of my animal art in pastel, most recently for the Wethersfield Art League.

I work primarily in pastel and also in pencil and acrylic paint; I am a self-taught artist; my ability to ‘capture’ life on paper is a humbling gift. My inspiration is drawn upon a lifetime of observation in the woods and natural areas of New England and beyond, where I have been fortunate enough to catch glimpses of the wildlife that find their way into my paintings. The balance and harmony of the natural world brings more ‘rhyme and reason’ to my world and evolves at my easel. The expression of these experiences and observations with my pastels is a lifelong challenge; my artwork is an invitation into that world as well as a tribute to the domestic animals that travel with us.

My Business

My primary business is my artwork; I also enjoy buying and selling antiques and other collectibles and maintain an Ebay store for that purpose as well as the sale of my artwork. if you are interested in purchasing a piece of artwork, you do that at my Ebay Store or contact me directly.
