| Pat Morris, Artist 76A West Stafford Rd. Stafford Springs, CT 06076 860-808-4405 www.PatMorrisArtist.com patmorris123@sbcglobal.net I am a wildlife artist, native of the state of Connecticut. I began my art career in the 1970’s, focusing mainly on pet portraiture. By 1980 I was also painting wildlife, in particular the wolves that I had come to know in my association with a wolf ambassador program here in Connecticut. I have continued through the years to enjoy the challenge of the depiction of animals, both wild and domestic, in my artwork. My work has been exhibited in the last 25 years in art shows throughout Connecticut and Pennsylvania and can be found in exhibit at dog shows, veterinarian offices, kennels, Audubon Centers and libraries throughout the Northeast, as well as in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. I work primarily in pastel and occasionally in pencil, colored pencil or acrylic paint. I am a self-taught artist; my ability to ‘capture’ life on paper is a humbling gift. My inspiration is drawn upon a lifetime of observation in the woods and natural areas of New England and beyond, where I have been fortunate enough to catch glimpses of the wildlife that find their way into my paintings. The balance and harmony of the natural world brings more ‘rhyme and reason’ to my world and evolves at my easel. The expression of these experiences and observations with my pastels is a lifelong challenge; my artwork is an invitation into that world and a tribute to the domestic animals that travel with us. |
